Dissect: Modeling a Hard Drive

One of my first significant projects as a mechanical engineer was to take apart something mechanically complex and model it on Solidworks. Along with two group members, I chose to take apart a hard drive. I modeled some of the interior components of the hard drive, including the reader arm, which is pictured above. Once we had modeled every component of the hard drive, we made an exploded view of the hard drive and animated it. The image below shows an exploded view of our hard drive model.
