HANSELL STEDMAN

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Thanks for visiting my website! I'm a Mechanical Engineering student in the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I created this portfolio to showcase some of my projects and let you know a little more about myself. Click on any image below to learn more about that project.

Working with three group members, I designed and built a remote control car.

Chess Set

I designed a chess set and brought it to life using SolidCAM and a HAAS CNC lathe.

Stirling Engine

I designed, machined, and assembled the parts for a custom Gamma-type Stirling engine.

UPenn Ski pole baskets

I created custom, University of Pennsylvania Ski team - themed ski pole baskets.

Arduino Stop Block Game

Working with a partner, I created an Arduino-based video game.

pedal_designOne

I made a gas pedal for the Penn Electric Racing car out of carbon fiber - but all did not go as planned.

Candy

As part of my first foray into CNC machining, I used a HAAS 3D mill to create an aluminum running sneaker.

jumpyJump_midGame

I created a fun computer game using MATLAB.

Vise Stop

I created my very own vise stop.

Truss Competition

I designed and built (using laser cut MDF) a truss capable of withstanding a significant applied load.

Grappling Hook Launcher

I designed a grappling hook launcher compatible with a lego vehicle to allow the vehicle to climb vertically.

pennER_quickJack

I helped a subteam of Penn Electric Racing design and fabricate a new quick jack for lifting and pushing the race car.

dissect_ReaderArm_pic1

I took apart a computer hard drive and modeled its parts using Solidworks.
